With reference to your letter of the 25th May
relative to the claim of 0. Yung against the United
States Government I am directed by Secretary Sir
E. Grey to transmit to you herewith copy of a des-
patch from His Majesty's Ambassador at Washington,
reporting that the State Department have refused to
entertain the claim.
In view of this decision and of Mr. Bryce's ob-
servations thereon Sir E. Grey proposes in the ab-
sence of any stronger evidence in support of the case
to take no further action in the matter.
